Zach Halcomb's Clay City (MPOR) Race Report (2006)
The night before the race I had to run a cross-country meet without
a motor! So going to Clay City made it more exciting I couldn’t
wait to smell the two-stroke smoke.
The morning of the race we had to get up at 5am it was about a three-hour
drive to get to (MPOR) we did the usual routine of signing in and
getting our numbers. This is the point where I start getting butterflies
I love that feeling!
The start of the race was a little complicated. Bryce Gartman got
the hole shot and we where off into the woods Bryce was hard to get
around but he laid it over and I made the pass. After that it was
all arrows, the course was great especially the new trails, they
where awesome.
The hills where tricky but I managed to get up them without crashing.
Thanks to the course marshals that kept the hills clear because there
was some people that couldn't make it up. Some of the mud holes where
hot tub deep and some people got stuck in them. There were a lot
of rocks on the trails that slowed me down a lot but I kept going.
But overall it was a great race and I had lots of fun.
Thanks to all the people from (KORHS) and (MPOR) for another spectacular
event!
