Jody Estes' Clay City - MPOR Race Report (2006)
The KORHS crew did an excellent job on the ATV course at Mountain Parkway
this past weekend. I knew the track would be wide because I had heard that
they were going to run quads on a separate track than the bikes. So to
start off, job well done.
I had a really good holeshot and got up front as we hit the motocross
track. Unfortunately things were fixing to change. About 4 miles
in, I turned to the
right when I should have taken a left. About two hundred yards later, I found
myself turning around because of a dead end. I got back on track a few seconds
behind Scott Wilson. Everything was going good as I tried to make my way back
up front. I finally got behind Todd Demaree and he was keeping a real fast pace.
Everything looked promising until the third lap on a downhill when my front end
started to shimmy. Real nice gash in the sidewall will hurt any man’s pride.
Well twenty something miles later on a front flat, I was ready to call it a day.
Despite the rough luck, I really enjoyed myself at Mountain Parkway. Once again
I would like to thank the KORHS staff along with the landowner for letting us
race.
