Race Report:
Kentucky Off Road Hare Scrambles Series (KORHS) - Round 7 - 2-Man
Event Andy Shea started out lap one in hopes of giving Chris Douglas a cushion to start with on lap two. Andy came around in front and it would have been a good plan, however someone forgot to tell the team of Ryan/Durkee about how this was supposed to play out. The team of Ryan/Durkee were on a mission and cranking out some quick lap times. Chris Douglas’s first lap went sour when he went straight instead of turning right up the long rocky jeep road. While Chris was out hunting for arrows Ryan/Durkee proceeded to turn the fastest lap time of the day. Andy’s speed was keeping the team in the hunt, while Chris Douglas found some new speed and started matching the others lap times. Lap times kept dropping as the race wore on. This caught both teams off guard as the riders came in under schedule and found their teammates sitting there with their helmets off! Now both teams were entering the official changing area at the same time each lap. This made for an exciting 12 laps of close racing. In the end the team of Ryan/Durkee saw the checkered flag a wheel length ahead of Shea/Douglas. Thanks to the guy’s at KORHS for putting together an outstanding event that made for some fun racing.
