Wow! What a race this weekend. It was definitely a muddy one. Probably the most mud this flatlander has ever experienced. lol. The streams of water flowing down the hills was pretty interesting, and boy were there bottlenecks. At the start is when the down poor began, and I swear it never stopped.

I ended up getting the early lead (3 for 3), and then lost it after the first 50 yards. It was quite a transition going from the open field into the dark "lord of the rings" style woods. After losing the lead and dropping back to second place, I made a sketchy pass to gain first once again and gave my tear-offs a break from the roost. I lead most of lap 1, but ended up in second going into scoring, but first was only 20 seconds away.

I ended up charging on lap 2 and gaining the lead once again before I ran into death hill. This one hill pretty much messed up my day. I took a bad line and ended up running into lap traffic. After that I tried turning her around and restarting, but then I ran into my buddy Cody Hardesty. Yep he ended up making it to the top of death hill while I watched. After that I kicked into idiot mode and wrecked off the side of death hill and thank the Lord there was someone there to help me. I didn't get my saviors name, but if he wasn't there I would still be stuck. After about two more minutes of scrambling around trying to think of what to do, I decided to take a line off to the right where riders ended up going up and I never saw them come back down. That could only mean one thing: flat land! So I gave her all I got and ended up making that hill but decided to turn right instead left and pulled into the parking area of MPOR. So I turned her around and headed back to where I came out and went with plan B which ended up being the right way.

After this interesting detour I turned in a 35 minute lap time which was a whole 10 minutes off the lead pack. So I tried to make up my lost time but just couldn't pull it off. I went home with my worst finish this year, a 5th place. I have to give it up to my midget buddy, and now known as the "Mudmaster" Cody Hardesty for pulling off his first win in Light C. Good Job Cody. Also good job to Dillan Hamilton for coming out to the gnarliest race this season and actually finishing it. For a kid who hadn't ridden since October that's pretty impressive. I'd like to thank my sponsors: Moose Racing, Scott Goggles, Kenda Tires, Decal Works, FMF racing, Mike at Cycle Gear, and Greg at Commonwealth. I'd also like to thank my family for bringing me to the races, and also Jesus Christ for keeping me safe. That's all for now...
