The Kentucky Harescramble Series put on a great track for us in the beautifully rocky hills of southern Kentucky. I was excited to race last years Champion, Alan Westerfield (who happens to be a good friend of mine) in the nearly 100 degree temperature!

On the first lap Alan was out front and I tucked in behind him. We pulled away from the rest of the class with Alan's amazing first lap speed. I passed him on the inside coming into the grass track section before finish. The 2nd lap was the fastest lap of the day for me, I concentrated on finding good lines through the rock gardens and not making any mistakes. On lap 2, I had built up a comfortable lead and from then on, I clicked off fast consistent lap times to take the win!

I had a really good time with the technical parts on the track and the new single track was real flowing! My teammate Andrew Matusek and I have been training in the heat so it really didn't bother me too bad. I'd like the thank my Mom and Dad, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green and my trainer Robb Beams.
