Race Report:
Kentucky Off Road Hare Scrambles Series (KORHS) - Round 5
Things looked dry as, and everyone was talking about the rocks we were going to come across out there [you cant find any rocks to ride on in NZ, beautiful dirt only] and I haven't ridden a 450 since before Florida this year. It showed, 2nd kick off the start, probably last around the 1st turn but 1st into the woods after the awesome mile of grasstrack was the best of a bad start. Things were only gonna get worse though, a few of us got a little lost at the end of the 1st lap when we entered the grasstrack again, I seemed to do fairly bad losing truckloads of positions, no stress though, its all about the fun, a workout, thinking about suspension and riding anything new for me. After stalling way to many times, low siding once and having to remove a broke handguard things got better with a shower of rain, not to mention the mint trails that only got better as the race went on. Possibly the most different ground ive ever ridden on, I really enjoyed the course, thought everyone did an excellent job with a perfect mix of cruisey and challenging sections. Another hours racing felt like it would have been cool for me at the time but to finish with no more dramas was the end of a fun event. Thanks goes again to the organisers, Marty, and Scott for giving me the day off. Looking forward to the next race, hopefully through better circumstances next time.
