Round 1 of the KORHS series was held at Mountain Parkway. I'm not a huge fan of this place, it just seems that it rains every time we go there, and when Mountain Parkway is wet it ain't pretty. The town isn't called "Clay City" for nothing, and wet clay is at the bottom of my list for track conditions.

I had walked the first mile of the course early that morning and it seemed like it was perfect dirt, nice and tacky. Boy was I wrong! Right after the start (which I got a holeshot in, Haha) I got through that first mile, and I realized what a day full of raining does to a place like Mountain Parkway. It creates some massive bottlenecks, and I have a bad history of joining the team when it comes to hanging out at a mudhole. Not this time though, after I lost 8th place in a GNCC a few weekends ago due to following some goon up a terrible line through a bottleneck, only to get passed by my arch enemy, Cody Hardesty. LOL, I learned my lesson to not follow everyone else, and to just make up my own line and use my head. So that's exactly what I did, and boy did it worked. It was awesome, there where about 20 guys stuck in a bottleneck, and I took a difficult line though some tress to successfully pass everyone with ease. I felt like a hero after that, considering the fact that the line I took there became the saving line for anyone trying to get around the carnage and keep the lap times steady.

After that I tried to keep it consistent and in control and my main goal was to not make any mistakes since the race was 2 hours long, and I'm only use to an hour and a half. I accomplished my goal and I pulled into the scoring tent with a second place. I was pretty satisfied with second place, but I kept thinking in my head, where was first? I never saw anyone from my class pass me. Well come to find out, when I went to go get my 2nd place plaque, they handed me a 1st place one instead. I was confused at first, but they explained to me that a rider in the light B class had his old light C transponder on, and the whole race he was getting scored as a light C rider. So this made my day at Clay City a lot better. So I have a new goal for this years racing season. That is to go for the Light C championship. Hopefully, I can accomplish this and am looking forward to a great racing season with my buddy Austin Schaffner who has his sights set on the crown for the light C championship as well.

I would like to thank a few people and sponsors for my win this last weekend:
First off, the good lord Jesus Christ for keeping me safe, my dad of course, my mom, and my sister Callie, and my sponsors: Moose Racing, Kenda Tires, Scott Goggles, FMF racing, Cycle Gear, Decal Works, and definitely Commonwealth Motorcycles for getting me on a KTM, (they're the best).

Thanks, that all for now.
